Cornice Boards - Window Treatments

Cornice Boards are a hard structure made with lumber, padding and covered with decorative fabric and trims. Cornice Boards provide texture and structure to a window and a room. Cornice Boards are often used to give a room a masculine feel, but can be transformed into a soft look with layers of coordinating fabrics and trims. The bottom edge of the cornice can be straight or shaped to enhance a window or room detail, such as an arch or just to add some interest to a room. When combined with drapery panels, a cornice board increases the benefits of maintaining the interior climate of a room; it traps the hot or cold air that rises from the window.
